The Star Baker prize went to Jess Regnard for her Blondies. There was also a prize for the Best Fail' which went to Sarah Pinchemain whose husband noticed the fruit for her Christmas cake steeping in alcohol and, with the best of intentions, proceeded to bake it for 5 hours without adding any other ingredients!

Independent judge, Fiona Simmonds of Little Mama's Bakery at La Nouvelle Maritaine said: I was so impressed with the quality of the cakes and the amount of effort that everyone put in. To be honest, judging the Bake Off was my idea of heaven who wouldn't want to walk into a room full of cake and have to eat it!
